Yin & Yang Black & White Makeup Look

After watching a good Disney movie (Mulan..caught, caught), I always feel OH so inspired! How about you cuties? The reason why I bring this up, as a primary statement, is because this makeup look is rather EDITORIAL, and very Halloween like compared my usual set up, however, who says you can't have a little fun in the middle of Spring ;)?! On the left, is YIN, which is the recessive female side, and on the right is YANG, the strong male side. For those confused, YIN is black/white the very black and bold side, YANG is white/black the illuminated symmetrical side! I did have a DIFFERENT take on the Yin and Yang sign than many would, however, that's the beauty of the makeup artistry. Feel free to change things, add glitter, lashes, you catch my drift.

Down below you shall find the left, or right side of the face, with the product details and a bit about either Yin or Yang. As being one who took Chinese back in 9th grade, you learn a thing or two ;)!

YIN
Recessive/Nurturing
Female Role
Negative Charge (dark/moon)
Autumn/Winter
Earth

Rather something soft, I took things into my own hands and did a twist on ol' Yin. With a pop of white on the inner thirds of my lid and a sharp, yet chic eyeliner set-up to represent a warrior of sorts, Yin won't be second to anyone, anytime soon!

Foundation is a custom blend, I produced
2 parts of coconut oil, and foundation pigment.
NYX Cosmetics - Jumbo Eye Pencil, Black Bean
Applied on half of the lips as a BLACK lip color!

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade, Auburn
Smashbox - Full Exposure Pallet: M7 (base smoke out shade ), M5 (transitional shade - used to softly buff the matte black in, M5 )
Morphe Brushes - 35U Multi-Color Shimmer Eyeshadow Pallet: Shade 4 (inner corners to represent a bit of Yang), 35 (inner corner highlight)
Make Up For Ever - Star Lit Liquid, Arctic White (inner corners)
NYX Cosmetics - Jumbo Eye Pencil, Black Bean
Used on the waterlines, and as a smoked out base color for the outer crease.
Sephora Collection - Waterproof Eyeliner, Black Lace
Create a line from the top of the inner thirds of your lids, and drag it out with a delicate flick curving towards your brows. The second line will stem from your upper lash lines! Take this line and curve it the OPPOSITE direction of your first line, THEN, finish off with a flick 1/8 down stemming down onto your under eye area. The line should be curved, not straight!
Ciate London - Wonderwand Mascara
Huda Beauty - Classic False Lashes, Sasha

YANG
Strong and assertive
Male Role
Heaven
Spring/Summer
Positive charge (light/sun)

Yang is focused on a strong frosty glow, with a bit of interesting eye makeup! I wanted to represent the heaven with ethereal skin, the positive charge with ELECTRIC shade combinations, and the strength, with sharply blended lines.

Foundation is a custom blend, I produced
2 parts of coconut oil, and foundation pigment.
NYX Cosmetics - Jumbo Eye Pencil, Milk
Applied on half of the lips as a WHITE lip color!
Shades were buffed together with a Beauty Blender to form
a gradient ombre. I felt this showed how Yin works with Yang,
rather how Yang is separate from Yin.
Make Up For Ever - Star Lit Liquid, Arctic White (highlight)

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade, Auburn
Smashbox - Full Exposure Pallet: S7 (inner corners, applied DAMP), M5 (transitional shade, applied twice for optimal pigment)
Morphe Brushes - 35U Multi-Color Shimmer Eyeshadow Pallet: Shade 35 (inner corners, brow bones), Shade 1 (inner third of lid, slightly buffed on lower lash lines)
Make Up For Ever - Star Lit Liquid, Arctic White
Used to outline the upper half of the inner thirds. Stem a line from the tear duct up above to mid-way across the lids. Follow how a cut crease generally is set-up!
NYX Cosmetics - Jumbo Eye Pencil, Black Bean
Used on the waterlines, and to add a bit of depth to the crease WITHOUT making it too dark!
Ciate London - Wonderwand Mascara
Huda Beauty - Classic False Lashes, Sasha

Hope you love bunnies enjoy :)

Wearable Flaming Copper Glitter Lips w/ Smokey Matte Shadow

Depending on how one sees the term "WEARABLE", this makeup look could go two ways. The first, appealing to those who have a knack for color, thus seeing the bold lips as a "wearable" yet glam factor, and the second, appealing to those who typically do not wear too much color, thus allowing those sorts' of people to blossom out of their comfort zones! I personally am a huge fan of glitter lippies...which I believe isn't hard to tell, hehe. They pair beautifully with textured pieces, and look stunning up close, as well as from afar! IF you're tired of plain ol' bold Spring lips, it's a must to try copper glitter this season!! Copper can be either a golden shade or a fiery option, such as the one I chose. Have fun with it, and gleam on, love bunnies ;)!

For those of you still a bit "EH" on whether to rock your inner glitter gal or not, allow me to ask this question: What is the difference between a bold glitter lip, and a bold matte lip? TEXTURE. Texture can really steal the show, and if done right can be long-lasting, too! I say let your freak flag fly and experiment with fun colors. Maybe not copper today, perhaps just a sheer coating of glitz on the center of your lips. Or a daring ruby red lip!

Foundation is a custom blend, I produced
2 parts of coconut oil, and foundation pigment.
L'Oreal Paris - Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow, Iced Latte (highlight)

Jeffree Star Cosmetics - Velour Liquid Lipstick, Pumpkin Pie
Glitterally Cosmetics - Pressed Glitter, Tiger Eyes
Pressed glitters are MUCH easier to apply, and require no glitter glue base!

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade, Auburn
Too Faced Cosmetics - Natural Matte Eye Pallet: Honey Butter (all over color)
Chocolate Cookie (crease, dragged down to the lower lash lines)
Laura Mercier - Caviar Stick Eye Color, Cocoa (waterlines)
L'Oreal Makeup - Voluminous Carbon Black Volume Building Mascara
Ciate London - Wonderwand Mascara
I went with TWO mascaras for a plush lash effect! I wasn't feeling the vibe
of applying false eyelashes, since just like shimmer lids, this would deflect
from the main focus, our lippies.

Minor pointers:
-KEEP the eye makeup extremely warm toned, and be sure to keep the texture MATTE.
Too much shimmer can take away from the glitter lips!
-Be sure to BLEND, this way the final finish is seamless!
- If you use loose glitter, be sure to apply a glitter glue base beforehand.
-You might feel burning, or a grittiness when you speak. This is typical
of wearing glitter on your lips, however, try not to lick em' to prevent
anything from going inside your mouth intentionally.

Excuse my allergy snotted microscopic nose hairs, BUT here are the lips up-close! They lasted a good 3 hours before I took this shot. This includes with laughing, smiling, and constant talking!

Simple Dark Burgundy Lipstick Makeup Look for Spring 2017 TREND

I am not one to fancy trends, but I must say this new method of breaking the barriers when it comes to makeup and the four seasons is one I can dig! Since I don't look good in pastels, and anything fully saturated, Spring generally is NOT my season, however, that doesn't mean it can't be. Assuming other women face this issue of not fitting in with pastel lipsticks or eye shadows mantra, and look best in deeper shades, here is a makeup look for YOU gals...and even those who're in that pastel range, since deep lips if done right, can look amazing on anyone! Featuring Sugarpill's 'Anti-Socialite' lipstick, below is a makeup look that REALLY focuses on the lips, and the clothing colors you bring forth. Take note how even though a cool toned teal DOES NOT fit me, I make it work with something more muted, and in the season of Fall, thus making it almost complementary to Spring, since it emphasizes the warmth in my complexion. Below is product details, with clickable links! Be sure to also check out my review of the 'Anti-Socialite' lipstick. It's new, and your Lilz has all the specs covered!

Sugarpill Cosmetics 'Anti-Socialite' Lipstick REVIEW + SWATCHES

If you're a makeup lover like myself, you have at least ONE indie brand lipstick in your collection. Whether it be from Jeffree Star Cosmetics, or now Sugarpill Cosmetics, makeup mavens have it all! For me, lately, I've restrained myself from making any haul-like purchases, since I feel the boom in cosmetics is gettin' a little old. I mean...how many red lipsticks can a company come out with before EVERYONE, even those who have huge collections, get tired of spending $30.00 plus on makeup that let's not forget expires within 2 years!? Anyhow, the relevance of this is I finally went out of my way to purchase Sugarpill's new lipstick color in 'Anti-Socialite', which is a part of their "Pretty Poison" collection featuring ALL dark and sexy shades. For those seeking to check out the new lipstick collection, since Sugarpill just recently ventured into lippie grounds, be sure to read on to find out my honest views on the specific shade 'Anti-Socialite'! I chose this one since the blackened burgundy I felt was a shade many would go for, unlike a deep blue which is less wearable.

Let's get to the specs, specifically starting with packaging, ingredients, and all that fun stuff! More specs are uncovered as you scroll down.

All "Pretty Poison" lipsticks feature a pill designed bullet case, hence the name Sugarpill, and exclusively have sparkly black packaging. These to my relief are VERY sturdy and have a handy closure, so one can make sure their lipstick will stay closed, and REMAIN closed, even in their crowded purse! Smell wise, they smell of vanilla cupcakes, but don't expect a Mac Cosmetics signature scent-- these waver, and aren't as intense, which for me someone sensitive to smell is PURRFECT.  An added bonus here is that 'Anti-Socialite', is a completely vegan option! Speaking of being vegan, below is a copy of the ingredients list. You will see Jojoba Seed Oil, Aloe Vera, Carnauba Wax, and even Safflower Seed Oil! Essentially, for those new to these substances, all these ingredients make for a kick-butt matte lipstick, that while is made to be hydrating, still packs a MAJOR punch in pigment.  Do take note, however, to the "Red 30 Lake", and other ingredient descriptions that follow through. Red 30 Lake is generally a synthetic material, but it only adds red color, and nothing more. It's approved for VEGAN lipsticks! "MAY contain", in my findings, always means there is a trace.

"PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, VP/Eicosene Copolymer, Octyldodecanol, Ozokerite, Microcrystalline Wax, Silica, Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
May Contain (+/-): Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Iron Oxides (CI 77499), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Red 6 (CI 15850), Red 30 Lake (CI 73360), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Red 28 Lake (CI 45410)" - Sugarpill Cosmetics 'Anti-Socialite' Lipstick Ingredients List DIRECTLY copied.

Marketed as a "SEMI-MATTE" formula, thus you will have some moisture unlike a coveted Kat Von D Lipstick which tugs, this lipstick glides on, and within ONE SWIPE, has mega pigment! Above is a swatch of 'Anti-Socialite' on my lips, without a lip liner. It took two coatings for an even finish, however, this is because the formula is SO moisture drenched, easily one can make a mistake! What I noticed is unlike other deep red lipsticks, 'Anti-Socialite', does not streak, and from the start is BOLD. If you desire a darker finish, try to apply WITHOUT a lip brush, though! The more blended, the more the burgundy color comes out, and the blackened finish lessens. One downfall I saw, since it's best to see both the pros and the cons, is that within 20 minutes of just POSING, the product began to feather terribly! To my luck, this doesn't really stain (SHOCKING, I know), and I was able to clean it up with just my finger.

Compared to Besame Cosmetics lipstick in Blood Red, which is rather dark, this product is on the same creaminess level, however not as long-wearing. Possibly this is due to me wearing a dewier foundation that day, which always causes bleeding, so I am OPEN to applying a matte setting powder on top, but I must say I like to use a product as it is without the extra struggle. I will give Sugarpill this - darker colors are EXTREMELY difficult to formulate as they generally have to be drenched in pigment, thus causing worries of streakiness, tugging, and so on! For that, they deserve a 4/5 star rating.

Overall information one should keep in mind:
Color - Black base + burgundy red
Burgundy is a WARM red, but not as warm as other variations of the red color family
Cost - $20.00
More money than Urban Decay's Vice Lipsticks ($17.00), but less money than KVD's Lipsticks ($21.00)
Total Amount of Product - 3.2 grams / .11 OZ.
Kat Von D Studded Kiss lipsticks have a size of 0.10 OZ/ 3 G
VEGAN x SEMI-MATTE x MOISTURIZING

Here is the "blackened burgundy", as Sugarpill likes to say, on my skin tone, from afar! I only am wearing my custom blend foundation, with a bit of Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Auburn. This gives you loves a BETTER idea of the color itself, without other colors clashing! Anyone with neutral to warm undertones, and warm undertones EASILY will pull this baby off, however, if you have very cool, almost greyish, undertones, I'd suggest steering away from this color as it'll emphasize any alabaster complexions.

Final thoughts are as goes- with retailing at $20.00 flat and offering a stunning and quite unique blackened finish, I honestly WOULD recommend this product to a friend, and WILL purchase it again despite the downfall of it wearing off a bit on me, and feathering! It truly is hard to come by any shades with a black base added, since most brands choose to keep the finishes deep, but not dark like this. Perfect for the Spring...if you're with the burgundy lipped' trends featured on Dolce & Gabbana runways, and perfect for the Fall, especially! You can pair this with a wide array of colors, or just play it simple as I did, and let the lipstick speak for itself.

One last comparison I would like to make is to the Milani Cosmetics Amore Matte Lipstick in 'Fabulous'. 'Fabulous', while dark, has more cool brown/red undertones, than 'Anti-Socialite', however, for those not wanting to spend a lot of money, and for those seeking something a bit less dramatic, check this baby out. I find the Milani Amore Matte collection DIVINE!

I hope you loves enjoyed this little review! Will you be purchasing a lipstick from the newly introduced Sugarpill Cosmetics liquid lipstick, and bullet lipstick lines? Let me know bellow your thoughts in the comments section :).

Springy Orange Creamsicle Soft Glam Makeup Look

Ooooh orange, mi amour! I can just hear my mom saying, "SEE, I told you orange was your best color!" Yes, mumsy...I hear you...finally! Getting back to planet Earth, as you loves know I've been in such an ORANGE phase, and I must say, I'm lovin' it (no pun intended). Orange symbolizes zest, with happiness, and to me freedom, as well as energy! Moreover, all things positive! With that being said, here is another orange based makeup look that is completely Spring, Summer, and late Summer early Autumn ready. Soft glam never hurt anyone ;)! Whip out those wispy lashes, and get blending!!

Foundation is a custom blend, I produced
2 parts of coconut oil, and foundation pigment.
ColourPop Cosmetics - Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick, Dohee
⤷Mac Cosmetics Sushi Kiss is LIGHTER, and pinker, but close as a "dupe"
Giorgio Armani Beauty Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick in 302 Tokyo is more coral

Everyday Burnt Orange Spring Makeup Look

Spring is a season that can bring many challenges to one's everyday makeup routine! Between constantly having that urge to wear a new lippie each day, which prolongs any morning routine, to being unsure of how to even go about your full faced makeup due to the ever changing cool to hot weather, your LILLEE understands, and of course has all of you love bunnies covered. How, you might ask? Simply said, burnt orange, with using a popular eyeshadow pallet might I add, is quite flattering on an array of complexions, and is perfect for the in-between Spring-Summer transition. In fact, burnt orange pairs wonderfully with orange reds, warm pinks, light nudes, and so on! One factor I love most about this wearable look is that the way you want this final look to come out truly depends on YOU as a person. For example, I took the route of looking ethereal, but with a more rusted eye shadow, and darker lips, this could turn out to be more on the sultry side of things! Nevertheless, of what you choose, I hope you loves enjoy, AND HAPPY EASTER XOXO.

Foundation is a custom blend, I produced
2 parts of coconut oil, and foundation pigment.
Nars Cosmetics - Lipgloss, Striptease

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade, Auburn
Anastasia Beverly Hills - Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Pallet: Burnt Orange (blended out towards my hairline, from the crease to the lower lash lines), Raw Sienna light definition), Primavera (inner corners, brow bones)
Laura Mercier - Caviar Stick Eye Color, Cocoa (blended up into the crease, as well as on the waterlines with a clean index finger. I built the pigment up gradually until I was satisfied.)
L'Oreal Makeup - Voluminous Carbon Black Volume Building Mascara

Minor pointers:
-As a rule of thumb, anything blended in the crease should be dragged on the lower lash lines for sultry, and light drama!
-You can, of COURSE, use fluffy lashes, but I felt the shadow spoke for itself. Plus, I associate mascara with "everyday" looks!
-Lipstick should be kept in the warm realm, UNLESS, you make this a neutral to cool toned look with vivid electric oranges, rather sunlit, natural shades!

Clementine Warmth Summer Makeup Look

Greeting, my love bunnies! As you all know, orange is one of my FAVORITE colors to use when it comes to Summer inspired makeup. Whether I apply the color to my lips, or to my eyes, orange just seems to melt into my skin like no-otha' shade out there! Since I do realize not everyone fancies walking out with electric eyelids, especially in the boiling sun's heat, I put together a smoldering, and metallic eye makeup look that would be flattering on numerous skin tones, as well as numerous undertones. Even those with cooler skin, can pull off a sunny copper, and light goldish shades! That being said, I hope you loves enjoy, and if you do recreate this let me know in the comments below XOXO.

Foundation is a custom blend, I produced
2 parts of coconut oil, and foundation pigment.
Milani Cosmetics - Color Statement Lipstick, Sweet Nectar 01

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade, Auburn
Smashbox Cosmetics - Cover Shot: Eye Pallets, Ablaze: Throwback (crease), Torch (inner thirds)
Morphe Brushes - 35OS Color Shimmer Nature Glow Eyeshadow Pallet: Shade 18 (center of lids), Shade 17 (outer third of lids, lower lash lines), Shade 26 (blended throughout the lids to crease to soften up the color blends)
L'Oreal Paris - Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow, Iced Latte (brow bones, inner corners)
Laura Mercier - Caviar Stick Eye Color, Cocoa
(waterlines, slightly on upper lash lines & blended in the crease)
Ciate London - Wonderwand Mascara
Kiss Products - Blooming Lash, Daisy Lash
Dramatic lashes WILL work perfectly for this makeup look,
however, I felt the femininity of fluffier lashes created
a more "Summery" and sensual final effect!
